Zoa “Joanne” Branson Spalinger, 72, of Shell Knob, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Jan. 13, 1944, in Raymondville, daughter of Henry H. and Zoa P. Densmore Branson. She and Werner Spalinger were married Jan. 23, 1965.

She attended grade school at Friendship School, a two-room school east of Raymondville. She graduated from Houston High School in 1962.

She was a Christian and active member of a Baptist church in Shell Knob.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Werner; and a half-brother, Floyd Branson.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Nixa; two stepsons; two stepdaughers; three sisters, Carol Davis of Duncan, Okla., Linda Armour of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Donna McDaniel of Bonne Terre; a brother, Kenneth Branson of Fort Worth, Texas; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were Friday, Dec. 2, at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Kirkwood. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood.
