Norma Jean Seago Beasley, 86, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, in Mountain View.
She was born March 3, 1930, in Gunnison, Colo., daughter of Narvel and Ethyl Seago and B.F. Anderson. She and Kenneth C. Beasley were married March 6, 1949.
After moving to Summersville in 1963, she worked in the community for many years. She was employed at Angelica, as a cook in local cafes, as a tax collector for Carroll Township, and as cook at the high school for 13 years. She also often served as a volunteer at the Senior Center.
She was a cook, seamstress, painter and gardener.
She recovered family couches and chairs as well as figuring out how to mud and tape drywall so she could paint the walls of her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kenneth H. Beasley; and two siblings, Rosanna and Franklin.
Survivors include three sisters, Jeanie Estes of Summersvile, Marium Kennedy of Wichita, Kan., and Cindy Henry of Wentzville; a son, Allen Beasley of Singapore; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many friends and neighbors.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 3, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Bradford officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Summersville.
