After fighting three fires almost simultaneously Friday afternoon in the Houston area, officials are advising the public to refrain from burning the next few days.
“It’s hot and dry,” said Don Gaston, chief of the Houston Rural Fire Department. “It’s an ideal situation for fires to get out of hand.”
Gaston’s department responded to a fire in Licking as well another on Highway 17 near Roby and one on U.S. 63 south of Houston.
