Willie Lee “Bill” Sullivan, 82, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Mountain View Health Care.

He was born Dec 20, 1934, in Hartshorn, son of Marion J. and Rosa Briggs Sullivan. He and Jean Rae Coffman were married May 12, 1959. They later divorced. He and Carol Fisk-Tuttle were married Sept. 3, 1993.

He left home at an early age to find his way through many jobs until he joined the Army in 1959. He was discharged as an E6 SSGT. He served in The Big Red One Unit at Fort Riley, Kan., and three years in Germany. He served 22 total years.

He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America with his son. He was also a member of the Tribe of Mic O SAY and tapped in 1975 as an honorary warrior. His tribal name was “Many Parts,” and his son was “Little Many Parts.”

He had worked at many jobs, including NAPA in Horton, Hiawatha and Atchison, Kan., as well as Gary Coder Chevrolet in Horton, Kan.. He was a member of the Horton (Kan.) Police Reserves and Br. County Reserves. He retired from KDOT after 20 years.

He enjoyed hunting fishing, camping and tinkering in woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Gracheck.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; five children, Russell Sullivan of Atchison, Kan., Barbara Welch of Horton, Kan., Brenda Buttron of Lancaster, Kan., and Connie Yaussi and Cathy Nigus of Hiawatha, Kan.; two stepchildren, Alisha Tuttle of Springfield and Scott Tuttle of Riverside, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dwaine Sullivan of Sperry, Okla.; a stepsister, Patty Como of Kansas City; and several other family members.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery
