Vincen Cleveland Cooper Sr. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, in Summersville.
He was born April 17, 1941, in Spring Valley, daughter of Ruby Irene Cloninger Bolton and Medford Cooper. He and Carmelita Robins Howerton were married Sept. 11, 1960. He and Jody McKee Cooper were married July 27, 1991.
Known to many as “VC,” he was a lifetime resident of Summersville. He was a member of the FirstChurch of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Medford L. Cooper; two sisters, Betty Jo Cooper Crisco and Obra Jean Cooper Price; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include five children, Londeana S. Brown of California, Md., Vincen C. Cooper Jr. of Mountain View, Billie Jo Clark of Neosho, Bobby Lee Cooper of Summersville and Lacey J. Clinton of Willow Springs; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a life partner, Sharon Pyatt of Summersville; a brother, Benjamin Cooper of Maryland; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 26, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Boyd officiating. Burial with military honors were in LVB Cooper Family Cemetery near Summersville.
