SHEENA BOLERJACK

A former jailer at the Texas County Jail faces multiple felony drug charges after allegedly distributing controlled substances to inmates during a six-month period.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Sheena D. Bolerjack, 33, of Salem, confessed to distributing 2 oxycodone to an inmate between Dec. 21 and Jan. 6 as well as distributing alprazolam and tramadol on multiple occasions between Sept. 9 and Feb. 28. She is charged with two counts of class B felony distribution charges following a multi-agency investigation that concluded this week.

According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by an investigator with the patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, the sheriff’s department requested assistance with investigation of the sale of narcotics by a jail employee. Bolerjack was arrested March 3 by Dent County authorities –– at the request of Texas County Sheriff James Sigman –– and transported to Texas County by a highway patrolman.

Bolerjack was jailed following the interview process. Sigman said she was presented a letter terminating her employment on March 4, and a warrant was issued March 6.

“I take this kind of thing very seriously,” Sigman said. “You have to trust your employees, and you hope you can when you hire them. The jailers are tasked with the duty of inmates who aren’t labeled criminals until they’re proven guilty, but some of them are in here for some pretty dangerous offenses.

“What she was doing was quite an offense in itself.”

Sigman said investigation of the case is not yet fully complete, and he would have more information to share when it is. Bolerjack is held on $250,000 bond.
