Iva Leona Hilgert, 91, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Licking Park Manor.

She was born April 30, 1925, in Turley, daughter of Offie and Rosa Richards. She and George Hilgert were married June 20, 1944. He passed away April 20, 1996.

She and her husband, George, rededicated their lives to the Lord and were baptized in the Piney River by Pastor Lonnie Case. She attended church at Rambo Assembly of God for many years

Due to health problems, she moved on Sept. 2, 2016, to Licking Park Manor. She had many friends there.

She was also known as “Little Granny” to her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all her family. She enjoyed fixing meals with her daughter, Betty, and taking trips in the fall to look at leaves.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; an infant son, Freddie Monroe Hilgert; 11 sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty of Beulah; three grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Services were Sunday, March 26, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lonnie Case officiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery.
