Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Community Christian Church in Rolla

Louise F. Wade, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, in Hot Springs, Ark. She was the daughter of Thomas Benton Hamrick and Ada E. Lingo Hamrick.

She was born in Kirkwood, Missouri and raised in Texas County Missouri until her marriage to Charles E. Wade. The couple then moved to Rolla, Mo., where she lived for more than 65 years.

She faithfully served her church and her community and loved singing in the church choir and in several community choirs. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Nimble Thimbles quilt club. She volunteered at the election polls for local, state and national elections. When she wasn’t quilting she was fishing for trout at Bennett Springs where she caught more than one lunker.

She is survived by two daughters, Marylou Legsdin and husband, Pete, and Jane B. Weiss and husband, Tom; three grandchildren, Nicolee London and husband, Quincy, Cynthia Fowler and husband, John, and Tammie Munk and husband, Dan; eight great-grandchildren, Kaela Creighton, Maggie, Allie, Tori and Nicolas London, Jessie Fowlerand Ethan and Sidney Munk; her twin brother, Lewis L. Hamrick and brother, Thomas B. Hamrick; and more than 30 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Ada Hamrick; her husband, Charles (Chick) Edward Wade; and three sisters; Velma Puckett, Mary Alice Crabtree and Leota Sanders.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Community Christian Church in Rolla. Burial will be in the Craddock Cemetery in Texas County. Arrangements have been entrusted to CedarVale, The Hot Springs Village Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or cancer research.
