Graveside services: 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, in Pine Lawn Cemetery

Kay Sewald, 76, was welcomed into heaven on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She was born Jan. 15, 1941, in Denver, Colo., to Paul and Zella (Artley) Whittlesey.

Kay was married to her devoted husband, Otto, for 57 years. Their early years of marriage were spent in Denver, Colo., where they met in junior high. They have made their home in Missouri the last 43 years.

Possessing a true servant’s heart, Kay faithfully cared for her family and friends. She loved to cook and entertain. Kay was a strong willed person who loved the Lord. She was the backbone of her family and has left an incredible legacy of faith to them. Family meant everything to her.

Kay and Otto have been members of Mansfield Assembly of God for more than a decade. She enjoyed being right in the middle of every ministry.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Zella Whittlesey; her brother, Paul Whittlesey; and a daughter, Carrie Sewald Elmore.

She is survived by her husband, Otto; her daughter, Chris Wallace and husband, Scott, of Kentucky; her son, Paul Sewald of Minnesota; her grandchildren, Jennifer Vandall and husband, Zandy, of Missouri, Mandy Harris and husband, Andrew, of Kentucky, Michael Haney and wife, Rhiannon, of Australia, Jared Elmore and wife, Jordan, of Missouri, Korie Laskowski and husband, Ben, of Kentucky and Whitney Haney of Colorado; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, in Pine Lawn Cemetery with Brother Jerry Orf officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Mo.

In lieu of flowers the family requested memorials be made to Mansfield Assembly of God Women’s Ministry.
