Houston High School seniors Abby Casper and Cameron Root were named the players of the year by the Houston Tiger Booster Club. Presenting them with personalized plaques is booster club president Travis Root.

Abby Casper and Cameron Root were named the Houston High School players of the year by the Houston Tiger Booster Club.

Casper, a senior, won the 100 meters at districts to advance to the track sectionals. On the basketball court, she was a second team all-conference selection as the Lady Tigers’ starting point guard. She averaged 10.5 points per game while leading the team in assists (1.2) and steals. (1.6).

Root, also a senior, was a three-sport starter with the HHS football, basketball and baseball teams. He knocked in 17 runs for the baseball team – ranking second – while hitting .281.
