The City of Houston has begun the search for its next city administrator.

The position, held the past 10 years by Larry Sutton, is being advertised in this week’s Houston Herald as well as the Missouri Municipal League website.

The city council voted 4-1 on May 1 to remove Sutton, who has held the post since November 2007, from the position. He was given 30 days.

The city administrator oversees the daily operation of the city and its budget and workforce.

According to the MoCities advertisement, the salary will be $55,000-68,000 plus benefits. The city administrator will oversee 25 fulltime and five part-time employees.
