A Texas County man has set up a flood relief fund at a local bank and is orchestrating a raffle to generate even more funding.
Bado resident Joseph Neal said the “Texas County Flood Relief Fund” now has an account at Landmark Bank, and that raffle tickets are available for $5 apiece at Crowley’s HomeWorks and VIP Realty in Houston.
Neal runs a business that dismantles old barns and sells the wood to other firms that use it to create new items. He said the raffle features four prizes made by Antique Barnwood Reclaimers, of St. Louis Park, Minn., including a door (and accompanying bracketing), a coffee table, an end table and a set of five shelves.
Neal and his crew will install the door and shelving for the winners of each of those items. The raffle drawing will take place May 20.
Donations to the fund can be made at any Landmark Bank location (the last four digits of the account are 7455). Neal said local government officials would delegate expenditure of collected funding.
