Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has named a Wyoming official to head Missouri’s social services department.

The new appointee, Steve Corsi, currently heads the Wyoming Department of Family Services. He previously worked as a clinical director in several healthcare facilities and is an officer in the Army National Guard.

Corsi also spent nearly a decade in the Air Force and spent time as the chief executive of High County Behavioral Health in Wyoming.

Corsi, if approved, would oversee the state’s sprawling social programs. The agency has a regional office in Houston.

Wyoming’s Family Services Department reduced its annual budget by almost $30 million under Corsi’s leadership, Greitens’ office said.

Greitens also announced Friday that he would appoint Lee Keith, a longtime Missouri and Illinois banker, as director of the state’s Division of Financial Institutions.

Keith is a former president of Gold Bank in St. Joseph and also led banks in Sullivan, Columbia and Springfield. He recently led a turnaround effort for Mercantile Bank in Quincy, Ill.

Greitens said in a written statement that “Lee has been a fierce advocate for small towns. He’s done multiple bank turnarounds. His experience is unmatched.”

The two appointees need Senate confirmation and will serve as acting directors until then.
