Houston police officers handled several investigations during the last week. 

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Donna L. Williams, 54, of 403 N. Grand Ave., Apt. 2, in Houston, was issued citations on May 1 for operating a vehicle with expired license plates and no insurance card.

•Amanda J. Thompson, 35, of 720 Cherry Ave., Apt. E1, in Summersville, was cited for first-degree trespassing after entering Walmart on May. 3. She had been banned from all Walmart properties after an incident March 11.

•Kathlian M. Weatherston, 31, of 401 Oak St. in Houston, was issued a citation for allowing an animal to run at large after an incident on April 25. An officer issued the ticket after investigating a report of a dog being attacked by a brindle-colored pit bull at Ozark Terrace.

•Richard E. Choate, 71, of 5234 Highway DD at Houston, was cited on April 27 for operating a vehicle with expired license plates.

•On April 25, Sharon L. Barton, 44, of 8903 Highway E at Houston, was issued five citations for stealing under $750 and one for stealing under $500 and after allegedly shoplifting and switching price labels at Walmart on multiple occasions over a two-month period.

•Dakota N. Vanover, 24, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 16, in Houston, was issued citations for unlawful exhibit of a weapon and fourth-degree assault after an incident on May 4.

An investigating officer reported that he responded at about 7:50 p.m. to a report of a man threatening people with a knife at a Highway 17 residence. The officer made contact with a 34-year-old woman who lives there who said she was sitting on her front porch with her children and a man and Vanover came onto the property, displayed a knife and threatened to kill everyone.

The woman said she then ran back toward the Houston Apartments where he lives and she called 911. Vanover was apprehended at the apartments and taken to jail, and the knife was seized as evidence.
