Shirley Ann Cox, 66, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, in Houston.

She was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Twin Falls, Idaho, daughter of Herschel and Hazel “Kathleen” Tipton Martin. She and Larry Cox were married Aug. 2, 1972. He passed away in 2009.

Shirley grew up in the Pleasant Grove community and attended the one-room Pleasant Grove School. She graduated from Cabool High School.

She worked as a CNA, CMT and finally in medical records at Kabul Nursing Home.

In her younger days she loved to go camping and grow vegetable gardens and flowers. She loved sharing the produce with family and friends. She loved being a grandma and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and a brother, Phillip Jones.

Survivors include her mother; Kathleen Martin; two daughters, Juli Oravec and Nicole Stilley; a son, Craig Cox; four brothers, Kenneth Martin, David Martin, Marlin Martin and Kevin Martin; two sisters, Gail Martin and Kelli Martin; six grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial graveside services were Saturday, May 13, in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Cabool with Marlin Martin and Nathan Christeson officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Houston.
