An Elk Creek boy was injured at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in an accident north of Cabool, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

One person was injured Thursday night when a vehicle collided with a truck that was stalled in the roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Devin H. York, 23, of Licking, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries following the 9:25 p.m. accident. The scene was two miles east of Licking on Highway 32.

York’s 1984 Chevrolet flatbed was stopped in the roadway due to a mechanical malfunction, according to the patrol. A 1992 Buick Le Sabre, driven by Joy A. Grover, 17, of Licking, came upon the truck in a corner and rear-ended it.

Grover, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured. York was not wearing a seat belt.

Grover’s vehicle had extensive damage. York’s truck had minor damage.
