COUNTY STUDENTS MAKE MSU DEAN’S LIST

Fourteen students with Texas County ties were named to the spring dean’s list at Missouri State University. To receive the recognitions, students must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for at least 12 credit hours. Named were:

• Houston: Drake Bell, Brandon Belt, Elexis Calhoun, Trevor Merckling, Janissa Portincaso, Racheal Pursifull and Jessica Spauldin.

• Bucyrus: Cheston Malam.

• Huggins: Nichole McGrath.

• Licking: Megan Smith and Benn Sullins.

• Plato: Collin Carlton.

• Success: Emery Buehlmann.

• Summersville: Alaina Smith.

FOUR FROM AREA RECOGNIZED ON MU DEAN’S LIST

Four Texas County students were recognized on the spring 2017 dean’s list at the University of Missouri:

• Caroline Marie Dunn, Houston, senior, arts and science.

• Ely Seth Todd, Houston, senior, arts and science.

• Dustin Laurel Knight, Licking, junior, arts and science.

• Katelyn Reena Stoops, Summersville, senior, agri-food and natural resources.

LOCAL STUDENT NAMED TO WESTMINSTER DEAN’S LIST

Emily Davidson, of Houston, was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Westminster College in Fulton. She is a sophomore.

To earn the the honor, students must have a 3.60 semester grade point average with at least 12 hours completed that semester.

HOUSTON STUDENT GRADUATES FROM MISSOURI S&T

Joshua Tyler Pounds, of Houston, earned a bachelor of arts degree multidisciplinary studies from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. He was one of almost 600 students to receive degrees during commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 13,
