Gertrude Pauline Pennington, 93, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Houston House.

She was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Heidelberg, Germany, daughter of Joseph and Helen Burblinger.

She grew up and graduated high school in Germany.

She and her husband, Charles Pennington, lived in various places before settling on a farm in the Evening Shade area in 1962.

She enjoyed baking and tending to animals on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by three children, Linda Caughron of Republic, Mike Pennington of Walla Walla, Wash., and Ralph Pennington Bucyrus; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
