James “Pops” Edker Wasson Sr., 85, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017.
He served 20 years in the United States Army-Infantry. He served two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He and retired 1st Sergeant out of Fort Leonard Wood.
He professed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Joy Wasson; his parents, Boyd and Dorothy Loyd Wasson; two brothers, Harold Wasson and Clarence Wasson; and a grandson.
Survivors include three sons, James Wasson, Michael Wasson and Edward Wasson; four siblings, Ruth Merick, Rachel Paul, Shirley Pautter and Johnny Wasson; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, July 26, at Evans Funeral Home with Michael Wasson and Edward Wasson officiating. Burial will be in Lynch Cemetery in Plato.
