Lorene Mildred Brackett, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Mountain View Health Care.
She was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Raymondville, daughter of Everett Leonard and Beulah Ellen (Fagan) Courtney.
In her younger years she attended Friendship Church. Later in life she attended the First Baptist Church in Raymondville.
Most of her working career was at H.D. Lee, where she was an inspector.
She enjoyed enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and making various crafts. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leburn; a son, Leonard Bay; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Taylor of Mountain View, Barbara White of Mansfield and Carol Wilder of Gladstone; a brother, Raymond Courtney of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a host of other family members.
Services were Friday, July 14, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sonny and Glenda Grandstaff officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery near Raymondville.
