Billy “Bill” Eugene Hamilton, 82, of Cabool, passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield after a very short illness.

He was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Solo, son of Archie and Fern Smith Hamilton. He and Patsy Jean Parmenter were married in December 1961,

He grew up in the Solo area and attended Houston and Cabool schools. He was a member of the New Hope Church at Solo after being saved at a young age.

He worked many jobs with the public: driving school buses, gas truck, ambulance and a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 1996. He then began redoing antique wood furniture.

He enjoyed fishing and lawn work. He mowed the Steely Chapel Cemetery for years.

He attended Steely Chapel Church and later Bethel Church at Elk Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Patty of the home; two sisters, Merlene Raleigh and Beverly Bennett; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool with Orval Gayer officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery at Solo.
