Tessa Payton Emmalyn Peterson, 21, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, due to severe complications of diabetes.  

She was born Nov. 2, 1995, in Bluffington, Ind.

She spent most of her life in the foster care system. She was adopted by Matt and Rebecca Peterson on Dec. 19, 2013.

She received her GED and began college at Ozark Technical Community College in hopes of becoming a criminal investigator. She loved to dance, write poetry, study, read books, play volleyball, watch movies as a family, get her nails painted and listen to her sisters play music together.

Survivors include her parents; her siblings, Madison of Neuquen, Argentina and Hannah, Kyleigh, Weston, Abigayle and Elleigh Peterson of Cabool; a biological sister, Allie Anne Williams of Eunice; and many other family members and friends.

Services were Saturday, Aug. 19, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Houston. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
