The following accidents were reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol:
• Isom C. Roberts, 27, of Houston, was seriously injured and faces multiple charges following a single-vehicle wreck Sunday evening on Morton Road.
He was traveling northbound five miles north of Houston when the 1996 Chevrolet 1500 he was driving went off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. Isom, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Isom was charged with first-degree felony tampering with a motor vehicle, first-degree property damage, felony leaving the scene of an accident (property damage exceeding $1,000), driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident, driving while suspended – second or subsequent offense and no seat belt. He was released for medical treatment.
The truck was totaled.
• Duane E. Drake, 40, of Cabool, was injured last Thursday morning when a Bethany M. Shupe, 21, of Plato, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck his vehicle on Highway 17. The wreck was two miles south of Roby. Drake, who had minor injuries, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Shupe was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
