Don Lavely Sr., 70, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at his home in Houston.

He was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Thayer, son of Walter and Ava Honeycutt Lavely.

He worked as an iron worker for Big Boy Steel Construction, Inc. in St. Louis until his retirement. He moved to Houston to be near family.

He loved working in his garden, going to the casino and being with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; a son, Don Jr.; and two brothers, Robert and Dean.

Survivors include five brothers, Paul, Leon, James, Howard and Ike; a sister, Ann Marchbanks; and a daughter, Angie Spain.

Memorial services were Saturday, Sept. 16, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Darius Wentz officiating.
