An Elk Creek boy was injured at about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in an accident north of Cabool, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A Licking man was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a head-on wreck in Phelps County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Henry Futch, 40, was taken by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center and later to University Hospital in Columbia. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The patrol said Futch was traveling northbound on Highway J five miles south of Interstate 44 when the 2016 Chevrolet Sonic he was driving crossed the centerline and struck a 2014 GMC Acadia driven by Brenda J. Smith, 63, of Newburg. Both vehicles were totaled.

Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center. She had moderate injuries.
