essie Mae Morton Napier, 98, passed away Friday, oct. 20, 2017, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove.
She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Houston, daughter of Charles and Ida Gross Morton.
She and her husband, John, owned and operated the Napier Poultry House in Houston from 1938 through 1950.
She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Kay Napier and her siblings, Sallie, Joe, Lester, Clarence, Herb, Lucy, Beulah, James and Clifford.
Survivors include a son, David Napier of Weldon Spring; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Bertha Morton Wickline of Rupert, W.V.
Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 23, in Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
