Frances D. Chastain, 60, of Edgar Springs, passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

She was born March 29, 1957, daughter of Preston and Frances Long Merryman.

She began working at Big Lots in August 2000 at its opening and continued working over the next 17 years. She was a member of the photography group Ozark Shutter Junkies. Photography was her biggest passion, with several of her photos winning awards.

She was a breast cancer survivor.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Edgar Springs for 18 years.

Survivors include her husband of 29 years, John R. Chastain Sr. of Edgar Springs; children, Kathy Crider, John Chastain Jr. and Julie Sparks; eight grandkids; five great-grandkids; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were Wednesday, Oct. 4, at First Baptist Church in Edgar Springs. Services were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Campaign.
