HMS basketball

The Houston eighth-grade basketball team hit six 3-pointers en route to a 36-17 season-opening victory Thursday against Licking.

Josh Smith hit three triples and scored a team-high 13 points for the Tigers (1-0). Wiley Sisco added nine points and Hunter McKinney had two 3s and eight points.

Houston led 9-2 after the first quarter.

SEVENTH GRADE: Colton Stewart hit three 3-pointers and scored a team-best nine points in the Houston seventh grade basketball team’s 28-20 loss Thursday to Licking.

The Tigers (0-1) were outscored 7-0 in the opening quarter and never recovered.
