Carol Jane Miller, 80, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017.
She was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Chariton, Iowa, daughter of Thomas Benton and Eythal Undine Clowser Reid. She and to Kenneth Russell Miller were married May 7, 1962.
She worked as a hairdresser for many years.
She and her husband, Kenny, were members of the Summersville Senior Center, where they enjoyed visiting and playing card with their friends. They were active in city council and loved the Summersville community.
She and Kenny moved back to Iowa to be near their children and grandchildren when their health decline.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, dominoes and visiting with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tom Reid; and a sister, Shirley Stratton.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Russell Miller of Chariton, Iowa; four children, Dean Dawson Jr. of Mingo, Iowa, Richard Dawson of Indianola, Iowa, Debra Evans of Chariton, Iowa, and Kenneth Royce Miller of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a brother, Dwight Reid of West Des Moines, Iowa; and a sister, Colleen Amerlang of Chariton, Iowa.
Graveside services were Saturday, Oct. 28, in Summersville City Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. Services were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
