Ella Marie Seaton Rodgers, 91, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2017.
She was born April 1, 1926, in Dodge City, Kan., daughter of Arthur Fred and Mary Elizabeth McDonald Seaton. She and Roscoe Roy Rodgers were married Nov. 17, 1945.
She grew u in Wichita, Kan., and attended East High School. She then worked at the state license bureau in Woolworths, Kan., and Forth National Bank. In 1944, the Seaton family purchased a farm in Licking. It was there she met her husband, Roscoe, on a blind date.
She and her Roscoe built a three-room home, where they lived 63 years and raised four children.
She loved her family, flowers, gardening and working alongside her husband on the farm. She also loved was talking on the phone with her two sisters and her many friends and family members.
She dedicated her life to the Lord and was a member of Boone Creek Baptist Church. She was a member of WMU and helped with many vacation bible schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe; a greatgrandson; her parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Fox and Judy Shelton; a son, Johnny Rodgers; a sister, Carolyn Watkins; five granddaughters; a grandson; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were Thursday, Nov. 16, at Boone Creek Baptist Church, Licking, with Pastors Fred Bobe and Wayne Carrigan officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery were under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
