A Cabool woman faces drug and child endangerment charges following an investigation at Cabool.

An investigation by the Cabool Police Department has led to a woman being charged with three drug-related felonies.

Stephanie F. Dann, 36, of 1305 Parker Ave. in Cabool, is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs.

According to a Cabool police officer, information was received Tuesday that Dann was growing marijuana on the back porch or her residence.  The officer responded to the location, but nobody was home.

But while there, the officer observed in plain sight a pot plant growing a pot on a table outside the home on the back deck. A search warrant was obtained, and during further investigation a significant amount of marijuana was found inside the house, along with smoking devices and other drug-related items, including syringes and crystal-looking substances.

A large bag of pot was reportedly observed sitting on the armrest of a couch, only a few feet away from one of two children who lived there. A firearm was found under a mattress. Three juveniles were taken by a grandmother.

Dann is in the Texas County Jail on $200,000 bond. The officer noted in the report than she was on probation when she was arrested.
