The Texas County Food Pantry has made some changes in the last few months, including new store hours.
Because of our new expanded hours we are in need of volunteers who are positive, cheerful, dependable and can come with a giving heart. Whether you are a retired man or woman looking to help out your community, an adult or teen with some spare time to give, or a college/trade school bound student looking to spice up your application, we need you!
We have three areas where we can always use volunteers: The thrift store, food pantry and warehouse. The thrift store needs weekly or monthly volunteers Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to help with organization and pricing of items.
The food pantry volunteers are needed to direct flow of the clients with some light paperwork involved, and are needed weekly Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Warehouse volunteers are needed weekly or monthly Monday, Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers in the warehouse will be asked to sort donated items and clothing and prepare the donations for sale in the thrift store.
If you are interested in volunteering please come to the emergency assistance office at the food pantry to sign up! Or if you would like additional information about volunteering you may call me at 417-967-4484 or email tcfpdirector@centurytel.net.
