Crysta Pross Smith Cook, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.

She was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Hartshorn, daughter of Thomas Jackson and Artie Emmy Gale Smith. She and Olen Cook were married Nov. 29, 1952. He passed away in 2002.

She was saved at an early age and was a member of the Valley Center Baptist Church in Hartshorn. She enjoyed helping with bible school and working with her church family.

She worked for many years at the Angelica Uniform Factory where she worked as a hot head presser.

She enjoyed gardening. She was known for her quilts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Olen Cook; an infant daughter, Donna; five sisters, Virgie Belback, Laura Dewitt, Goldie Beck, Areth Mogan and Susie Stark; and five brothers, Carl, Henry (Johnie), Norman, Charlie and Arvel.

Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Cook, Bob Cook and Terry Cook, of the Hartshorn area; a stepdaughter, Barbara Jean; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five adopted grandchildren; a sister, Freda Arl of Ellington; and a host of other family members.

Services were Sunday, Dec. 17, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorvan Stringer officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
