Paydon Dixon and Michael Clayton led the Houston football team’s four all-district selections with spots on the first team.

Dixon and Clayton, who both received the honors on the defensive side of the ball, were joined by teammates Aiden Sawyer and Dalton James. The Class 2 District 3 team is selected by the coaches.

Dixon, a junior safety, ranked second on the team with 83 tackles and 10 tackles for losses in 2017. He also had a team-best two interceptions.

Clayton, a senior who played both defensive end and linebacker, led the Tigers with 11 tackles for losses, four sacks and three forced fumbles. He ranked fourth on the team with 71 tackles.

Sawyer, a junior linebacker, had 57 tackles and seven tackles for losses. He also forced a fumble.

James, a senior offensive lineman, paved the way for a Houston rushing attack that had 1,688 yards and 21 touchdowns last season.
