Josephine G. Cross, 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Houston House.
She was born April 11, 1930, in Hartshorn, daughter of John William Edgmond and Mabel Elizabeth Willis Cross. She married Eugene Cross.
She attended Hartshorn Assembly of God Church in her early years.
She enjoyed being outside tending her garden, pulling weeds or working her flower beds. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.
Due to ill health, she moved to Houston to be near family. When she became unable to stay alone, she lived with her daughter, Elaine, then later going to live at Licking Park Manor and Houston House.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Frances; a brother, Alton Cross; and three sisters, Leon Kinsworthy, Mary Cross and June Smith.
Survivors include five children, Gene Cross of Hannibal, Bonnie Cross of Springfield, Winfred Cross of Mountain View, Elaine Cross of Houston and Michael Cross of Van Buren; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Bond of Hartshorn; a brother, Johnny Edgmond of Houston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. Burial will be Antioch Cemetery near Hartshorn.
