The Houston girls’ basketball team fell to 0-3 with a 64-31 road loss Thursday at Clever.

Kaitlyn Root scored 16 points to lead HHS. Chloe Hunninghake added six points and Carly Crawford had five. 

Allie Clevenger scored 22 points and Harper Little had 20 to lead Clever (3-1). The Lady Jays were the No. 8 team in the Ozarks Sports Zone preseason girls’ power rankings.

The Lady Tigers trailed by eight at the half but were outscored 16-2 in the third to fall behind by double figures. Houston had just one second half field goal and seven total points.
