Avis V. Dyer Rayfield, 93, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at Mountain View Health Care.

She was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Alley Springs, daughter of Joab and Gracie Babcock Dyer. She and Fredrick Gerald Riggins were married in March 1946. He passed away in 1959. She and Arco Peterson were married in January 1965. He passed away in 1988. She and James Swiney Rayfield were married in May 1993.

She enjoyed hiking, fishing and hunting. She loved traveling with her husband, James, flowers, collecting birdhouses and watching things grow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouses; three brothers, Glen, William and Shelby Dyer; and two sisters, Helen Eckler and Ruth Patterson.

Survivors include three children, Marilyn Riggins Gatrelle, Ron Riggins and Fred Riggins; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel Wilkins; and many nieces, nephews, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen Bates officiating. Burial will be in Dyer Family Cemetery
