The Houston Tigers lost their conference opener 66-35 on the road Friday night at Liberty.
Sophomore Clayton Moore was 6-for-10 from downtown and scored 18 points as the lone HHS player in double figures. Isaiah Buse and Michael Zamarron, who returned after being sidelined with a concussion, scored five apiece.
The game was actually tied 13-all after the first quarter before Liberty (7-4, 1-0 South Central Association)¬ used a 22-10 advantage in the second quarter to take the lead and 19-5 run in the third to pull away.
Houston (6-9, 0-1 SCA) was 8-for-16 from long distance but just 4-for-16 from inside the arc.
