A Cabool man faces felony charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl multiple times.
Roberto R. Candanoza, 51, of 514 Peabody Ave., is charged with four counts of statutory sodomy. He is held in the Texas County Jail on $500,000 bond.
A Cabool Police Department report says a complaint was received Jan. 31 from a woman who stated her boyfriend was molesting her 9-year-old daughter.
The woman told officer she received information from a 16-year-old babysitter who had talked with the victim.
The woman was interviewed by a Children’s Division worker and the victim was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in West Plains.
Candanoza’s alleged actions reportedly took place between May 2016 and January 2018.
He admitted to inappropriately touching the girl multiple times, Cabool police said, as well as other sexual actions.
