Services: Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Fox Funeral Home

Clifford Wayne Akers, 60, of Licking, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Cox Health Center South in Springfield.

He was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Jefferson City, son of Charles Edward and Abbie R. Butcher Akers. He and Belinda Sue Arnett were married Nov. 8, 1998.

He enjoyed being out in the woods, playing poker, watching dirt track and stock car races.

He worked for Callaway County Road Shed from 1978-’85, Lynch town shed in Licking, as well as logging. In his younger years, he logged with horses with his uncles, worked for pole mills, sawmills and at the time of his death he was working for Mississippi Valley Forest Products, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Roy and Randall Young; and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda; his mother, Abbie Akers; five children: Jason Akers, Wendy Sullins, Branden Akers, Jason Coble and Josh Coble; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Roger, Charles and Diamond Akers; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Lagesse and Linda Davidson; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Services were Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Fox Funeral Home with Pastor John Jordan officiating. Burial was in Cantrell Cemetery.
