Ernest Ray Turner was born to Ora Earnest Turner and Alma Fay Turner on July 4, 1944, in Joplin, Mo.. Ernest lost his battle with a four-month-long illness at 4:40 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2018, at SLU Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Anita Turner; and his eight children, Michelle Andrews, Michael Turner, David Turner, Leland Turner, Sherry, Grover Evans, Ernest Turner, and Laura Turner. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ernest was a kind, caring man and was hopelessly devoted to his family. He loved to spend his time fishing and camping, and enjoyed cracking jokes, especially at his expense.

Ernest was so very loved by his family and abundance of friends. He will be incredibly missed by everyone.

A memorial service will be held, however the date has yet to be determined.
