A Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy is joining the Houston police force.

Kenny Reynolds, who recently became a Houston reserve officer, was named Tuesday to fill a vacancy in the roster. He replaces Brad Evans, who next month becomes the Houston economic developer.

“He is going to be a great addition to our department,” said Tim Ceplina, police chief.

Reynolds, 39, of Solo, spent nine years with the Mountain Grove Police Department and has been with the sheriff’s department for five years. He is married and is a graduate of Licking High School.

Ceplina said his department has enjoyed working with Reynolds during his tenure at other agencies. His duties begin March 5.
