A local teen is charged with felony assault following a Houston Police Department investigation Saturday.
Andrew White, 18, of 1435 S. Thomasville Road, Apt. 7, in Houston, is charged with seconddegree assault (a class D felony) after the incident.
A Houston police officer was dispatched at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday regarding a report of shouting at Emmett Kelly Park. The officer found nothing at the location, but noticed two vehicles stopped on U.S. 63 on the bridge near the park.
The officer approached and observed White and a group of workers from the T.J. Swift House who had reportedly confronted him there. The officer determined that White had charged the group, with emphasis on a particular male among them. White admitted to striking, kicking and biting the victim.
The officer spoke with the victim (who had several abrasions and cuts on his knees), who stated White had recently displayed an increasing level of aggression toward caretakers.
The officer reported that while inside the patrol vehicle, White claimed that when he got out of jail, he would kill the victim with a knife and harm the victim’s girlfriend.
White is held on $200,000 bond.
