JADWIN

Charlee Sue Jadwin, a junior at Houston High School, was elected last week as Region 9 president of the Regional Executive Council of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FC- CLA). Jadwin was one of 13 regional officers elected for the 2018-’19 school year.

“Being elected a regional officer is the one highest leadership honors an FC- CLA member can achieve at that level,” said HHS advisor Wytney Steelman. “This is the second year that Charlee Sue has been elected to this prestigious office.”

Region 9 is comprised of 15 school districts in seven counties in the south central area of Missouri. Each candidate had to submit an application form, take a knowledge test, give a prepared speech and answer a situation question.

The regional officers will help set policies for the region, make and carryout plans for the fall regional meeting, help regional members develop in-depth and meaningful activities and provide leadership activities for regional members. They will begin their duties at the 2018 state leadership conference, where they will attend a training session for regional officers and conduct their first meeting to begin plans for the next school year.

Missouri FCCLA has 10,094 members in 321 local chapters, ranking as the fourth largest FCCLA state association in the nation.
