The Houston Tigers and Lady Tigers received their district seeds last week for postseason play.
The HHS girls were seeded third in Class 3 District 10 and will play No. 6 Conway at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Mountain Grove High School.
The HHS boys are the eighth seed in their bracket and face top-seeded Mountain Grove at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.
The Lady Tigers (10-14) received a higher seed than three teams –– Cabool, Willow Springs and Conway –– with more victories than them.
“We received a favorable district seed,” coach Jim Moore said. “It is a reflection of how we have turned our season around from how it started.”
The Lady Tigers beat Conway 39-32 on Jan. 23 in the Mansfield Tournament. If they win again, they would likely play No. 2 Liberty for the third time this season. Liberty won the first two meetings by 22 and 14 points.
“I am hoping for another chance at them,” Moore said.
The Tigers (7-17) played Mountain Grove for the first time on Tuesday night. They meet again just a week later.
