The Summersville branch of the Texas County Library will host its fourth annual Laura Ingalls Wilder Birthday Party at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.
Participants are encouraged to dress in pioneer clothing, but it is not a requirement. The library has prairie bonnets to wear during the party, thanks to local seamstresses.
Several “Little House” activities are planned, including making butter, building log cabins, making paper dolls, watching a documentary DVD of Laura’s Mansfield home, hair braiding, enjoying Laura-style refreshments and much more.
Everyone is invited to celebrate her 151st birthday. The event is sponsored by Texas County Library and Summersville Friends of the Library.
