Geraldine Faye (McKinney) Hutsell, 87, daughter of James and Chloe (Varnell) McKinney, was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Texas County Mo. She passed away March 10, 2018, at Covenant Village Care Center in Plantation, Fla., with her children and son-in-law at her bedside.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Merle Allen and Madeline Haggard. She is survived by her husband, Russell of Plantation, Fla.; brother, Max McKinney of Warrensburg, Mo.; daughter, Kaye LeGrow of Weston, Fla.; son, Randy Hutsell of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Geraldine grew up in the Houston area and in 1948 graduated from Houston High School, where she was homecoming queen. She married Russell Hutsell on March 26, 1949. They lived in Rawlins, Wyo., and later moved to Kansas City, Mo. Geraldine graduated from Aladdin Beauty College. She was a hair stylist for several years. Later, she held the position of a retail clerk at Milgrams, where she worked until retirement.

Geraldine attended different churches and her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was strong. She was a gentle woman who was an excellent role model for her children, family and friends. Geraldine loved working with her hands. She sewed beautiful children and doll clothes, grew amazing roses, planted small vegetable gardens and made wonderful fruit and custard pies.

Geraldine loved being with her family and friends and was always willing to help others. She touched the hearts of those who knew her and will be greatly missed. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Evans Funeral Home. Services begin at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor John Emery officiating. Burial will be in Bado Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Garrett Ferguson, Doyle Hutsell, Eric Hutsell, Randy Hutsell, Chuck LeGrow and Andrew Parkinson.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Trust Bridge Hospice of Fort Lauderdale for their care and support during mom’s final days. We would also like to thank Pastor John Emery for officiating mom’s service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Geraldine Hutsell’s memory to Fairview Holiness Pentecostal Church, 6584 Hwy. M, Cabool, Mo., 65689.
