Gordon Lynn Green, 78, passed away at his home on Monday, March 5, 2018.

He was born May 11, 1939, in Shannon County, son of Chester and Elsie Michel Green. He and Lavonne Courtney were married Jan. 12, 1960.

He graduated from Summersville High School in 1957. He and his wife, Lavonne, raised their family in the Hartshorn community.

He was faithful to Christ, serving as a deacon for 46 years at Valley Center Church. He was also as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher for many years.

He was a member of the Summersville Masonic Lodge #555 and a Shriner.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping. He was a mechanic, working on things from old trucks to tractors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gloria Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonne of the home; three sons, Terry of Hartshorn, Cliff of Falcon and Ralph of Fayetteville, Ark.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services were Thursday, March 8, at Valley Center Church with the Rev. Van Kirkwood, the Rev. Joe Heiney and the Rev. Glenn Green officiating. Burial was in Valley Center Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
