The Houston High School baseball team opens its season Friday – just a few hours earlier than anticipated.
The Tigers play Ellington at 1 p.m. in the first game of the Eminence Wood Bat Tournament. HHS was scheduled to play at 4 p.m. against Van Buren, but the opponent and time changed due to weather and a team dropping out, coach Brent Hall said.

Houston, which went 5-18 last year, also plays at 6 p.m. Saturday against St. Paul in the tournament.
Friday’s game will be the start of the 21st season for Hall at his alma mater. HHS baseball coach Brent Hall begins his 21st season Friday coaching his alma mater.
