Members of the Texas County Commission on April 4 discussed utility costs and handled personnel issues at the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
The commission reviewed March costs for the justice center and jail. Members are examining utility costs. LED lighting is being installed, and an attempt will be made to determine energy usage in various parts of building at Spruce Street and Grand Avenue.
Members also heard from Sheriff James Sigman related to new hires and terminations. Lacey Buchholz was fired March 19 for nocall, no-show and several were employed: Scott Lyons, full-time jailer, April 9; Taylor Lee, full-time jailer, April 6; Loni Jones, full-time dispatcher, April 6; Carissa Cockrum, office administrator, April 5; and James Brown, part-time dispatcher, April 9. Each is paid $9.50 per hour.
